Dear Gay Brothers

Dear Gay Brothers,

Let’s wholly embrace sex without shame or fear of backlash, and still look at why consent culture is missing in our party spaces.

Let’s embrace masculinity, and still look at certain aspects of toxic masculineness like hyper-masculinity and why it affects gay men’s psychology.

Let’s support our lesbian sisters, and still look at our misogyny.

Let’s not speak out of both sides of our mouths when it comes to transgender people and our transphobia.

Let’s work with straight allies, and still work to heal at what’s wounded in our own community, like drug addiction.

Let’s embrace inclusion and diversity, and really really mean it, and still look at why we put racist phrases on our online dating profiles.

It’s time.

Our humanity depends on it.
